Building a Spyder
Hello ladies and gents,
I've decided to build myself a mech semi and for it to be a spyder or spyder clone that is low prrssure. My first marker ever was a Spyder Xtra and for nostalgia would love to build one however I was given very recently a PMI 2 ( atleast thats what is stamped on the body under the trigger frame) Piranha. Standard fair I suppose for a Piranha. Black, Right Power Feed, composite or plasic frame (that
the sear doesn't always reliably reset) Perfect Expansion Chamber, and some sort of Carbon Fiber Barrel (unbored).
So my questions to experts are as follows:
Is the piranha made better than a spyder specifically an xtra?
More valuable or rare?
Can a Bob Long Blast single trigger 45 frame be mounted to the piranha? If not what metal single trigger frame will? *edit* Addendum - if it matters there is a fatty striker in my piranha.
Subjective, but is the Tornado valve the way to go?
Is there much difference, performance or volume wise, between the mighty max front block thing as opposed to a stock one?
Is it a good idea to find a volumizer with a large volume or would the stock volumizer, with maybe a 1/2" deep cavity, work just as well for low pressure?
Is it possible to shorten the distance of the trigger pull and reset?
What are some good options for low pressure high regulators?
Have you seriously considered "42" to being the correct answer to the ultimate question?

I just grew the pump community!
Short story: Today, I let a 12 year old play with a pump. He loved it so much that he got his dad to buy a pump right then.
Long story: This kid and his dad play fairly regularly at my preferred field. They use electros, but the kid's broke down. I was using an OC Phantom, and said he'd be welcomed to use it. He looked like a kid who was just asked if he'd be ok eating dog food instead of a candy bar. But, he really wanted to play. He completely dominated one of the subsequent games. I mean, there was actual applause when it was all done. I mentioned that I had a different pump (Azodin KP3) that I was selling. After opening the box, he and his dad decided to buy it. I barely broke even on a marker I'd picked up 2 weeks ago, but I was pleased to know that I helped him expand his paintball preferences to include pump.
As an added bonus, a newcomer from last week also decided to play pump for the day (this field rents KP3s as an upgrade to the regular rental offerings). He mentioned that this was because he'd seen my son and I playing pump.

I bought this a while back and never used it... Ever... It's just been sitting for a long time...
Looking to get around $250ish for the whole setup...
Here are the details from the original listing... Plus I have added some extra stuff to get you going!
Stock Class Hammer:
Custom finished in silver vein and matte black with brass hardware
Modded for vert air (bolt through the body into the Micromag(?) VASA, plumbed to the rear with a quick disconnect)
Spyder detent modded to prevent double feeds
Brass WALZ Feed
CCI Bucket Changer (dust black top, dust gold bottom I can replace the gold bucket with a black one at the buyer's request)
CAA AR-15 grip (top swell cut off so it fits the frame)
Aftermarket barrel of unknown origin that looks really good on there
Polished hammer
Also included with the marker:
Spare power feed body, also detent-modded
Spare M16 grip
Stock barrel
Spare Adjustable bolt (bored out adjuster but still works)

"Weatherizing" your equipment
So now that the weather is starting to turn in the northwest here, I am curious as to how everyone is weatherizing their equipment. Seeing as how we are expecting 1.5' of rain this next week. How are you guys prepping your equipment for storage? Or for that matter, how are you prepping your equipment to still be usable as the humidity and cold kick in?
Personally I tend to keep all my guns in cases already. I would hate to leave anything out just to be open to getting damaged as is with the kids around and how they love to just play with everything. But beyond that I tend to put a little extra oil on o-rings and the moving parts of my guns that I am most likely not going to use until next season. I will most likely put all those guns into my sealed case and just store it away. I figure leaving 2-3 guns just readily available for use is enough.

Strange Impulse
I've got a gloss red strange vision impulse up for sale. Has a stock progressive barrel and a weird gas thru grip. Hasn't been aired up for a while but the last time I did I think it had a leak down the barrel so it might need an oring on the valve or a cup seal??? I'm asking $150 shipped and paypal'd.
